Hi Chris!
Depending on what information needs to be communicated to employees (schedule changes, upcoming job start time), there may already be a notification available in ClockShark. Feel free to check out http://help.clockshark.com/knowledgebase/articles/1133746-using-notifications to see how those notifications suit your needs. :)
Regarding the ability to craft particular messages and send them directly through the app, this is a request that we are hearing more-and-more. I’m sharing this with our development team, and we’ll continue to monitor the votes here for this idea, so we can know when we should add that for you.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions, you can let me know at cliff@clockshark.com. I love to hear how we can improve ClockShark for you.

Thanks for sharing your support for this idea here! As support continues to mount for this idea, our development team will plan how to bring this to you in ClockShark. :)
Reading this idea, and all the comments below, I can see that the consensus is that administrators would like a way to designate an Off/Holiday/PTO day, without having to insert any time for an employee. Currently, in ClockShark there is an available workaround that’s equivalent to the feature being requested.
If you’d like to see how to designate that an employee will be taking (or took) a day off, Morgan from our Customer Success team explains how to do that here: https://soapbox.wistia.com/videos/SkNhqgi9Kc
Feel free to let me know if this video is helpful, or if you have any other suggestions/ideas regarding how we can improve ClockShark for you. I love hearing your ideas.

Hey There, Brooke! Thanks for the suggestion about triggering an OT alert before an employee starts earning OT. That would certainly help admins/employees avoid OT by giving them an idea of how much time remains to work on a job.
We’ll have folks vote with you on this idea, and as it gathers support, we’ll add it to our development road map! If you have any other suggestions or feedback, please feel free to let me know @ morgan@clockshark.com, or 1.800.828.0689. Always happy to get your feedback!

Happy to announce the work on this project is underway. Soon each admin and employee with certain manager permissions will be able to set their own notification terms.

This idea in particular is a little tricky because it is a big change that can affect lots of aspects across the entire platform. But as we grow we will continue to assess the ways that we can meet the needs of our users.

It would be great to be able to run a report to see which access controls are assigned to employees.

Hey everyone, thanks for your feedback and votes on this idea!
I definitely think it would be really useful to gain quick access to see who has access to what. That way you would be able to see who has access to certain Jobs and Tasks, or even vice versa.
With limited work time and lots of ideas, we prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support. Let keep the votes coming and we will build this!

A feature where we can send specific notifications to the employees through the app (i.e. "Notes are required for any overtime spent"). So we don't have to use other means like calls or texts, and that there remains a record of the communication.
