Hey Mariann, thanks for providing your feedback and idea with us!

I know this would definitely be useful for lots of companies with more complex workflows, but it represents a fairly large addition to our system.

This would go a long way for us as well. We need two levels of reviewing/approving because our front line supervisors need to be able to edit/approve the on the ground time (when they showed up, lunches, and end times) because they are there with the workers through out the day. Then the project manager needs to be able to do his/her own edit upon reviewing the job number and task to ensure they are correct before HR exports the time to the accounting program (Sage 100).

The primary factor for why adding this feature would be a value multiplier is the information produced by Clockshark could be far more accurate is an efficient manner.

I understand it would be a "large addition to your system" but it would exponentially increase the value of the system to us. Thanks!

Hey Trent, thanks sharing your idea with us.

Just had a couple questions to clarify. Are you just wanting to put a note on the schedule? Would it be associated with an employee and a day?

Would this be visible to the employee, admin only? Any other details for what you are looking for would be really useful, thanks!

To expound on this base idea, for our company the way this would also help us would be to provide a way to add a note on the day to explain a lack of time. The problem this solution could fix is there is currently no way to document an explanation for a lack of time for an employee on that day. We need to keep a record of absences or really any time that an employee doesn't get a full day/week of pay, we like to maintain a record or note so that if there is a need to reference it down the road we can.

It could be a free type field to say whatever is necessary about that day, or be a more complex object with fields like category, contact made (text, phone, email, no contact), notes, etc. Category options could be:
    -Called in sick
    -No show/No call
    -Personal Emergency
-Told not to come in due to... changed manning requirements, job canceled, inclement weather, etc.

This way instead of a day being completely blank on the calendar there can be a record or a note letting HR know at a glance why the individual does not have time on the day. It could be as simple as an open text field or a more detailed item with multiple fields.
    Important factors
    - Accessibility: create/editable by frontline supervisor and lockable by Admin so that once it is locked it can not be edited unless unlocked by the admin.
    - History: edits recorded like edits on a time record
    - Visibility: only visible to the manager who created it and administrators

This would be huge for us. John Dombrowski's example would benefit us greatly
