Continuous, accurate tracking.
Our need for continuous, accurate tracking is greater than battery, storage concerns. 45 minutes to 4 hours without tracking defeats the purpose of that part of the program.

Hey Joslyn!
The app will collect location updates at 15 minute intervals while the employee is clocked in. Continuous tracking will quickly use a mobile battery, so that is why the interval is set to 15 minutes.
If you aren’t seeing any GPS Data for employees, please reach out to our happy-to-help Customer Service team, and they can assist in understanding why the GPS data isn’t arriving. It definitely should be.

Copy/Paste notes from schedule to clocked in job on app.
The ability to copy the notes entered in the schedule section and paste them into the notes section of job when an employee has clocked in would be a great feature. It would eliminate double entry work.

Thanks for this suggestion, John. This sounds like a great way to streamline job selection. Just to confirm: would this be in-app or on the website?

GPS needs to be more accurate and current.
GPS should update every 10 minutes and needs to be more accurate with current position.
33 votesJT Abbott responded
Thanks for the continued feedback on this issue. Like Cliff said before, a lot of this is reliant on the device of the user itself for the accuracy of the GPS.
For anyone with any questions or issues about that aspect I do recommend reaching out to our support team via chat on the website, email (hello@clockshark.com), or phone (800-828-0689).
GPS updating on a more frequent basis is something that could be done in the future. Right now we feel like the 15 minutes is a good balance of information provided while keeping the battery usage low as well. But keep voting and this will be something we look at!

JOB AND TASK IDENTIFICATIONS
Please make the job and task menus hold those same selections for the whole day. We don't like having to re-input that information when signing back in after lunch.
6 votesJT Abbott responded
Hey everyone, just wanted to revisit this idea. Right now when you start a break and then end a break, you stay on the Job/Task pairing you were on before the break.
However, if you fully clock out of the Job/Task for lunch (not using the break button), then you will have to choose a new Job/Task to clock back in.
Was there anything I was missing or anything to improve this process?

The app should be able to be turned horizontally so that we can see an entire job name.

Disable Warning
Please add the option to disable the "GPS is not enabled!" Warning. Such as a "do not show warning again" checkbox.

Thanks for the suggestion, Rick. That’s currently enabled to remind employees that their locations may not be transmitted if the Location Services aren’t turned on. I’ll share your suggestion with the development team to see if that’s something that is possibly optional.

In Espanol (Spanish setting for mobile app)
Provide language option for Clock Shark users-Spanish specifically
62 votesJT Abbott responded
Just to provide an update on this idea, we recently started supporting all characters. So letters from different languages, emojis, and more are all supported for notes.
We also do have the Employee Guide to Using the ClockShark app available in English, Spanish, and French. We also try to make the app as simple as possible which really helps most users.
However, we would still love to add this as a feature as well, please keep voting!

Have an address shown when clocking and out. Not just location on map
When our employees are our of town they tend to clock in when they get close to the job. Sometimes they could be 15 minutes from the job.
On the map it looks close but if we had an address shown we could calculate the exact time they are "squeezin" in34 votesCliff Mitchell responded

The ability to enter landmarks for GPS Maps
When looking at the map for status of employees, if the job addresses were entered as a landmark it would be easy to determine exactly where they are without having to zoom all the way in. While approving time for the week and looking at the activity for each day, if a landmark such as their home address was input and showed up on the map view, it would make approvals much easier.

Add a work order # field to the Mobil App
We assign work orders to employees that time is charged to. We currently mickey mouse it into the notes field which requires editing by the office staff. Add a optional 10 character field to the screen.

Capture Device Name when clocking in or out
Add the device name to the information recorded when clocking in/out (specially when clocking in/out via Kiosk).
This will give the administrator a way to audit employees and foremen (in our case) of which kiosk (device name/ tablet owner) was used.1 voteJT Abbott responded
Hey there, I could see how this would be useful.
And the moment our kiosks are built to be clocked in and out from the same device. So there could be multiple spread across many job sites, but you would want to clock into one and clock out of another.
But if the crews switched often, this could still be a useful feature. With limited work time and lots of ideas, we prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support. With great support, this idea will become one of our upcoming feature, so please keep voting!

Pause Button
Add a pause button for, say, when someone has a quick personal errand to run, gets a personal phone call, or something like that. On the mobile device, there's room right below the start lunch and switch buttons. (I hate paying for employees' personal time during work hours!)
16 votesCliff Mitchell responded
Fred, that’s a great observation! Using the lunch button (or even clocking out) allows you to clearly see when the employee stopped and started work. That’s an excellent, equivalent workaround one can use while we consider adding this in a future update.
