Auto Clock In & Auto Clock Out, Based on GPS Location & Geo Fences
I would LOVE to see the option on Clock Shark !!
There are already other products that offer the same functionality of Auto Clock In & Auto Clock Out, Based on GPS Location & Geo-Fences.
Its offered by a company called (My geo-tracking) they call it a touchless time card & it doesn't even require an app to be installed on the phone.
The only issue that the online dashboard and setup process for us managers is complicated and confusing.
clock shark is much more user-friendly.

Thank you for sharing your idea, and allowing folks to have a forum to support and vote for it. We prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support.
Great suggestions spread like wildfire. With enthusiastic support, this idea will become one of our upcoming feature releases, so please keep voting. :)

I just started with Clock Shark and really like it after three years with Tsheets, Big improvement. But I definitely agree with all these comments. Auto log in & out would be a tremendous option that would keep me with Clock shark for a very long time. That's the only thing that would make me switch if I find one that does offer that. So far only found service titans but they are insane price.

It would also be very helpful to not just have auto clock in & out, but to actually make it impossible for employees to even clock into any given job unless they are physically within the bounds of that job's GPS fence.
This would be an excellent deterrent to time theft, and could potentially save ClockShark customers hundreds of dollars or more that would otherwise be lost to this very common problem.

A feature like this would be helpful! Our company allows for drive time up to a certain radius on jobs that are considered "out of town". If they don't remember to adjust their time, I have to manually adjust it. An auto clock out with the Fence would be great! But I do agree that it needs to be an option for those running errands during the scheduled project; or maybe set a time perimeter that specifies if they're leaving the area before/after a specific time the system knows to clock them out?

Maybe set up an option for this feature? In construction, we allow a designated person to stay clocked in and go outside of the Fence to run errands. If he/she was clocked out automatically, they would be reduced in hours of working. I, however, do like this as an option!

The system needs to automatically log you in to a job once you’re inside a geo-fence then automatically log you out once you leave.
Clockshark could ask you for what task you’re doing once you enter the fence, though you would already have a default one set up in the system in case they don’t respond to the request. ClockShark could play an audible reminder sound once every few minutes after you enter the geo-fence just for the simple request what task you’re doing but it already started tracking the time once you entered the fence. If no response by the time you leave the geo-fence it’s just assigned it to a default task.
On top of that you can have the time that the employee is not inside a geo-fence automatically assigned to travel time between jobsites. Currently sometimes my employees forget to log out of the site before getting to the next site and then they login from there and the time that they spent on the previous site is no longer accurate . On top of that not being able to easily assign travel time groups the travel time with different sites making those sites time logs not nearly as accurate as well . it’s imperative to have accurate logs for liability purposes, so I can go back and see the exact time I entered the side and exited the site. Currently with the system that it is they’re not accurate enough for me to be confident in those times because of the continuous daily errors from employees which are very hard to avoid when you have so many actions to remember per day. With the system that is right now and with only 15 job sites per crew, a crew leader needs to remember to log in to each site and log out and log in to travel time between sites... that is 45 total actions per day with 15 jobs. Nobody ever gets it right 45 times a day.
You guys had this feature this would be the ultimate time tracking app !

Have an option when setting up employees that when the leave the GPS Fence it logs out the employee straight away.

I would like to see automatic logging of the GPS location changes conveyed to the timesheets and job hour comparison for reports. Manually changing job locations every time an employee moves from job to job lacks accuracy, and does not allow for easy comparisons of drive time from day to day.

a GPS fence that only allows the lads to clock in with in a certain radius of the job/site they are working at.

This would be Awesome! Our crews go to multiple sights in one day. This would be great if you could automatically clock them in using the geofencing, and then when they leave, clock them into -"Travel". When they reach the next spot, it clocks them into that job. When they leave, it clocks them back in to "Travel".
This way: If crews need to come to the office first to start their day, create a job called "Shop" / Geofence it / they're clocked in automatically.
They head to their first job - (they leave the geofence for shop) it automatically clocks them into "travel".
They reach their first job - it clocks them in to that job. This way - things are automated and crews can focus on taking care of the client! - not admin.

Just so that we can maintain the accuracy of the time tracking without having to arbitrarily adjust the hours if a rep is flagged to be out of bounds.

When an employee enters the GEO Fence. Clock them in automatically at the start time. Not 5 min before . Exactly at start time.

This would be a good feature set for a specific employee who doesn't understand the system or have a up to date mobile device

I would like this feature also. When you say "squirrelly practice" do you mean ethically or technically?
Thanks,

I would also suggest that we have the per individual employee admin capability to automatically clock a person out like when they turn off their GPS, except triggered by going to certain "dead spots" which is like when they go home during the day one or several times and forget to clock out. This would cleanly define times when they're not working (which in our case is dependent on being on-site) and give us a handle on many hours of misreported time.

I would like this option also. We should be able to set a predetermined schedule of say 8 to 5. If they are in the geo fence at these times it should auto clock in and out. If the employee is going to work an hour late then they could manually edit. The last thing I want to see are all my guys sitting there at 3 min to quitting so that they can clock out at right time or myself having to edit everyone times.

If this is added, please make it an option. It is not uncommon to drive past job sites when traveling around town - the auto clock in would have you in/out of multiple job sites that were not worked.
I do think a "ping" would be good so that a report can be generated to check the "ping" against when the clock in/out actually happened.

I don't think clocking them in is necessary nor a good thing when they arrive on site, a good employee shows up early so they are ready to work when the shift starts. But, since clockshark already knows when they cross the geofence it would be nice to be able to see this information.
It is always the notoriously late employee that seems to be the one that "forgot" to clock in. I'm sure this is the same at the end of the day with the employee that always leaves 15 minutes early as well. This would really help with time theft as well as rewarding and promoting responsible employees.

Auto clock in or out when they leave the GEO fence would be extremly helpful, we have to many " forgeting to clock out" makes it hard to know when they really left the job.

As well as auto clocking out when they leave

Our employees are not remembering to clock in. My employees are having trouble remembering to clock in and out which makes us have to manually enter their time and makes the app a little less useful to us.
