Deny clock in access when outside the geofence
Do not allow an employee to clock in until they are in the GPS fencing area. This way there is no mistakingly clocking in on the way to work .

Thanks for the idea, Bruno. We’ll definitely consider this. Up until now, preventing an employee from clocking in because of their location is a little squirrelly for both parties. So we have a created a conservative in-between.
Currently, you can set up Out of Bounds alerts in ClockShark that will alert you if an employee is clocking in/out from outside the GPS Fence. Let me share an article on how to set that up: http://help.clockshark.com/knowledgebase/articles/1135408-using-gps-fence-geofencing
Out of Bounds alerts will make you aware anytime an employee clocks time when they’re not on the jobsite. We’ll keep our eyes on this idea’s feedback to see if that setting needs to be more restrictive. Keep on voting, folks.

I can see where this would be good but I can also see an employee trying to clock in too early, not be able to and forget or just not try again. Then I have an employee working who is not clocked in. This just creates another problem

I certainly understand and agree with the response "it's a little squirrely". While the restriction would be nice, I agree that it could open up potential labor issues. I also like the fact that alerts are sent when an employee is outside of the fence. Where I run into challenges and time consumption is basically the reconciliation process. We would like to see it noted in the report section when an employee has clocked time outside of the fence. That way we can run a report, accept it or return to the timesheet to see where and why the employee was outside of the fence.

We have a terrible time with employees clocking in before they get to work and after they have left. It is nice to get notifications that employees aren't where they are supposed to be, but it would be so much better if they couldn't clock in unless they were in a Geofence area. It would save admin time trying to track everything down.

Should not be able to clock in/out if not in the GPS fence.

the geo fence option doesn't really help to much, I really think we need another option to either approve or deny clock ins. my employees are taking advantage of this and its starting to become an issue, if i set a schedule at 7am to 3pm I don't want to see them clocking in at 6am. yes I can adjust this myself but part of the reason I came to clockshark was to lessen the need for correcting these things. please give it some thought. thank you

I would like to be able to block employees from clocking in until their scheduled shift is set to begin. Also, on the reverse side of this I would like some sort of an alert to pop-up to an employee when they clock out letting them know they they went over "so many minutes/hours past their scheduled shift" so they are aware of their hours worked. Something along these lines to keep employees within their scheduled shifts.
