Be able to set clock in time at set time (ex: work start @ 6:00 am) even when employee clock in at 5:30. time tracking will start @ 06:00am

This is a really unique and novel suggestion, which really excites us! Can you please explain the benefit such a feature would have for you? Why would you like it?
We love to hear how we can make ClockShark better for you. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and to vote.

This is a critical feature for us. If 20 employees clock in when they get to site, say 10 mins early. They get paid from when they clock in and not when they start work. Therefore costing the company 10 minutes per employee per day. That small amount of time adds up to over 35-40K per year. My old payroll system rounded to start time and the money I am losing from not having this feature tempts me to switch back. This added feature of clock in rounding can't be that difficult to add. Yeah, I know we can manually edit but with 20 guys that's over 200 time sheet edits every payroll cycle.

occasionally, we have prevailing wage jobs and the contractor specifies a start and end time. It would be great to be able to say, this job starts at 7 and ends at 4:30, no matter when the clock in early or out late. Then if a situation arises that they had to work late, they can leave a note. I find myself adjusting the time for 35 people every morning because they are clocking in at 6:44 and out at 4:38.

Our employees often forget to clock in when they start working and it would be ideal if you could set up a clock in time other than just being able to punch in in real time. Most of the time apps offer this option, which is really just a basic feature. Our team would be really happy to have this added.

I would also find this useful. We have a number of employees that get to our job sites "early" but no one starts working until 7. They clock in though since they are in the geo fence.. waste of money each week.

This ability is a must!! Imagine all the time I spend editing payroll due to clocking in early. Those minutes add up at the end of a pay cycle. I love the suggestion of a 5 minute window.

Hello, I would like to limit the total hours per day that my employee can work, for instance 8 hours, in a perios from 7am to 3:30pm with break of 30 minutes resulting in a maximum of 8 posible hours per day.
Thanks

I was thinking a early clock in window setting would be nice. If someone is scheduled to start at 6, I can select the earliest they can clock in is 5:50 for example or 5:55. I would like the earliest for our employees to clock in before their scheduled shift to be a 5-10 minute option that I can select.

Limit the ability to clock in by schedule. Employees schedule should dictate when they can clock in. If an employee clocks in early or late (say more than 7 minutes), then a supervisor needs to approve the punch with either their pin code on the employees device or via push notification. This way we have an immediate resource to help us know what is going on

I have the same problem. Crews are to start at 7am but end up clocking in before. I end up having several hours of overtime per employee.

We run a team of plumbers who work an 8 hour shift. They work 7-3 but punch in earlier than 7 am as they don't want to forget to clock in. When we run reports it gives all of those hours and we have to then manually back out time. We use this app for jobsite labor expense and we would like to make it more acurate and have it work for us not against us. If you can find a way to have set parameters where they can not punch in until 7 and or set up shifts that regardless of the clock in time the reporting extends the 8 hours that would be helpful. We have saved the report as a csv file and are trying to work a formula to deduct the amounts - but it seems as though this should be somehting you can write in the program to do for us as possibly a custom feature. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same issue....our employees don't start until 7 am and I end up having to adjust the time sheets each week for clock ins prior to 7 am. This feature would be great!

Second this comment. We would like to restrict clock in times within 5 minutes of scheduled time. This was a great feature of Hotschedules and it saved us thousands of dollars annually

I have the same issue as Kristan. Our employees shifts don't start until 7am. This makes us have to adjust time for all clock in's before 7am. It would be nice to be able to set a global start time and round accordingly.

job time estimated as time sheet value. the clocking in as proof is most important to me, not the amount of time per se. It is useful to see if someone is performing poorly due to rushing but payment is set to an exact amount of time therefore using the job time instead of GPS time would save time in QuickBooks changing all the times to the estimated time. Ok... time out. phew.

My employees are not allowed to start before 7am. We round our time to 15 mins so when they clock in at 6:52, the app rounds down to 6:45. We then spend admin time going back and editing their timesheets. It would be nice to have the app not start them till 7am

Only allow employees to be able to clock in at certain times set by the employer
