Budget Report that shows budgeted/scheduled hours vs. hours actually worked
We would like to run reports by certain jobs to show our actual hours spent, verses our budget projects to see where we stand.

In previous updates, we mentioned that you can see the budgeted hours vs. the actual hours work on the Jobs list page. However, some people wanted their crew leaders to see this information without making them admins.
We do have a new “edit jobs” manager permission which allows employees with this permission to view/edit Jobs just like admins can.
This allows you to assign this power to employees without having to make them a full admin.
We would still like a report of scheduled/budgeted time vs. actual time worked, however. Thanks for the continued support!

Since there is already a category for budgeted labor in the system can you design a report that compares budgeted labor to actual labor on a job by job basis. We use clockshark to track efficiency in a shop. By adding a report that shows how long each job took in real life vs. what we budgeted for that job in our estimate it would allow us to track efficiency for not only the technician but the shop as a whole on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It would also point out particular jobs that we may not be bidding enough for. I don't know how difficult it would be to design the report but all the data is already in the job so I assume it is possible. It would be a very useful tool in any industry that bills by the hour and gives initial estimates before beginning a job.

Being able to see the staff schedule and what they actually worked would be great!

Would be great to add this to the job report summary. To have it come up and show the job, then under the employees who worked on the job, the hours, then total hours - budgeted hours = remaining hours. Very basic, easy to read, not 100+ pages long. Allow to select one or multiple jobs at a time.

Add the ability to enter a hour budget at the job/task level and provide the appropriate reports showing budget vs actual by job by task.
Job: Main Street Pub
Task: Demo Budget 32.0 hours Actual 29.5 hours
Task: Framing Budget 60.0 hours Actual 64.0 hours
Total Hours: Budget 92.0 hours Actual 93.5 hours.Of course, not in this format, but you get the gist.
A CSV export report would be awesome! -
We'd like to see a report that compares hours budgeted to hours worked. This would allow us to evaluate worker efficiency per job.

ability to run a report with the Labor verses hours worked in the report? Much like the hours worked vs the budgeted hours in your jobs list

I wish there was a way to share the budgeted hours with the actual hours with key employees so they can aim to complete the job within the estimated hours budgeted. Right now there is now way to view these hours on the mobile app, or allow a job lead to see the estimated versus the current running hours that have been clocked in to the job.

I agree with Anonymous, for the same reasoning as well as an additional reason. I use a payroll service and they must manually convert each employee's task time or time worked into decimals, which proves difficult and time-consuming.

In the time reports, it would be nice to see the scheduled time alongside the times the employee actually worked.

I have been trying to figure out a workaround for this by exporting to Excel. The issue is that the output for hours is a custom number, when converted to a general number, it treats the time as a ratio. 10:20 would convert to .50. so using these numbers is not reliable. Having the output in a decimal form instead of hours:minutes would make report analysis and calculation much easier and reliable.
