Use Local Time Zone
I didn't find any previous articles for this issue. My company is based in Oregon (PST) but has employees across the country. It appears that all time entries are converted to PST. This makes it very confusing when adding brakes, looking at time, etc. I would very much prefer that the punches were recorded in the local time zone.

Thank you for sharing your idea, and allowing folks to have a forum to support and vote for it. We prioritize all suggestions with the most traction and support.
With great support, this idea will become one of our upcoming feature releases, so please keep voting.

4 years later and still they don't save the data in GMT?
Save it in GMT, display it based on browser location or profile time zone setting!give me access to the code, ill do it.

We have employees in different states so maybe having a setting in the employee tabs were we set there info up to put what time zone they are in and have hrs recoreded per their time zone. It gets confusing looking at employee spreadsheets and jobs and trying to remember what time zone they were in. I will look at an employees time and think why did he login at 5 am when it was actually 7am...

I would also like to see time zones set at the employee level rather than at the company level. I am president and process payroll, but I'm in CA in Pacific time. My company is in Minnesota in Central time. While I'm the only employee in a different time zone, it's getting irritating to get a daily notification to log out at 3 p.m.

I agree with Lance and Shawn.
Without local time zones, it is my opinion that our company cannot use the software. It isn't reasonable to expect people to "interpret" the calendar or have various people switching the default time zone.
Most software with this problem stores everything in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and then uses the local time for display by either detecting it in the browser or picking it up from an employee setting.

Joe: Your suggestion is not feasible. We have employees in several time zones. There are discrepancies all over the map. Employees on the west coast cannot log in on east coast time, and vice versa

Allow different location to clock in at their own time zone, rather than the Company default time zone. This will make each manager's review for accuracy much easier.

Lance, this is a very good suggestion. Thanks for offering it. I can recommend a temporary workaround that may be helpful. If you visit your Company Settings Screen you can adjust the time zone that everything is being displayed in. You can change this setting as often as needed without any repercussions. So, although it would be a bit clunky, you could go in and change the setting before reviewing, editing and printing reports for each group of employees.
