Allow the job budget to be comprised of sub-budgets or task budgets
That way you could have a project or job with a budget of 500 hours, but 100 of that is budgeted to planning, while another 100 is budgeting for electrical work, etc.
As the work gets done you can see the progress of all the items getting done as well as the total progress. Notifications would be great as well!

Any progress or update on this feature? We are considering other time tracking apps because we are in such great need of this...

I believe this would be a good benefit.

Granule Task budgets and hourly tracking
-
Alysa Niederbrach commented
Currently, in the job set up, there is only an option to track the labor budget by 1 number, no task assigned to it.
Our company could really benefit from being able to enter a Labor Budget per task, especially if 5 different task items are used on a project. All hours currently go against 1 total amount of numbers.
If we had the option to enter the breakdowns, we'd be able to clearly see the hours going against each task.
Even further, having a report to run against budgeted hours vs hours used/punch to date in Clockshark for each job.

This would be huge for us. John Dombrowski's example would benefit us greatly

I agree this would be helpful. And the ability to see the budget vs actual when you view a job on the mobile app if you are manager or administrator.

Can you please give me an update on this option? We have been told that this is in the works. This functionality is one of the reasons that we went with ClockShark.
Thanks

Roofing 40 Hours 55 Hours
Drywall 20 Hours 10 Hours
Etc, Etc... -

Add the option of entering the initial budgeted hours for each task (cost code).
Then allow the field worker to report his percent complete per task, thus showing his efficiency. -

This tool would be really useful for contractors in that we can set the labor budget for each phase of work rather than for the whole overall job.

Allow a break down of time alerts on each job per the different tasks. 100 hours of framing, 100 hours of siding, 75 hours of trim, etc...

Budget time for tasks not just the job

Is there a way to break down labor budget tracking? We have several categories on each job. it's very cumbersome to enter the total number of hours allowed, and then go back through and figure out each category... Ex, framing 250 hrs, siding 150 hrs, trim 100 hrs. Instead of 500 hrs. The guys clock in under each category
