Allow for Mileage to be added to a specific job.
We allow our employees to use their own vehicles and reimburse them for that mileage. I wish there was a way we could track that on this app.
194 votesJT Abbott respondedHey everyone, thanks for all your votes and comments! This is one of the more popular ideas and definitely a feature we want to build.
At the moment there are a lot of other ideas that we think are going to provide more immediate value. But this is still very much on our radar and something we will want to address. Please keep the votes and comments coming!

Allow Expenses to be Added to Jobs
For example, if I need to purchase materials for a job site, then I'd love to be able to add that to the Job reports. Perhaps add an "Add Receipt" feature that allows you to upload a photo of the receipt and input the dollar amount so it can be added to the job report.
73 votesJT Abbott respondedI definitely think this would be a great feature and we are looking to add some more functionality in areas such as this. Would love some more specific feedback about the desired framework, so please let us know!

Allow the job budget to be comprised of sub-budgets or task budgets
That way you could have a project or job with a budget of 500 hours, but 100 of that is budgeted to planning, while another 100 is budgeting for electrical work, etc.
As the work gets done you can see the progress of all the items getting done as well as the total progress. Notifications would be great as well!

Add option for certified payroll work
We have employees working on several different jobs. Some tasks require certified payroll (Davis-Bacon). Would like ability to include check box for certified payroll--on a task basis.
30 votesJT Abbott respondedHey everyone, just wanted to provide an update. This is always going to be an option going forward, but at the moment it is a little out of the scope of what we are trying to accomplish here at ClockShark.
We do track all the necessary time information within ClockShark and the CSV Export report includes all the details you need for certified payroll. If anyone is looking for certified payroll, we do have an affiliate relationship with Points North and you can request more information here. https://www.certifiedpayrollreporting.com/clockshark

Modify budget hours with CO as those come up
Each job has original budgeted hours. In our case we deal with a lot of scope changes and change orders. Would love to see budgeted hours section expanded to add hours and notes as change orders are issued.
Other part is to add functionality for tasks and allowed hours for specific tasks which would/could tie in to Change Order as a task and budgeted hours for it.
Having budgeted hours as a whole when you have 15 or 50 tasks is not that helpful.
25 votesJT Abbott respondedHey Pawel, thanks for giving us your feedback!
I really like this and I think incorporating optional tasks to more effectively track change orders could be a really valuable resource for lots of companies.

offer an option to automatically reset the budget job hours on the first day of each new month. We need to track our client hours monthly.
Offer an option to have budgeted job hours reset automatically on the first day of each month. This allows a company to easily track the budgeted number of monthly hours based on annual retainer contracts set up based on number of hours per month and charge a premium fee for overages.
16 votesJT Abbott respondedHey everyone, just wanted to do a quick update on this idea. It really sounds like separate functionality from what our current labor budget does. Definitely something we can build, just makes more sense to be a separate function.
Our current one is built for the life of the job, not intervals within it. And even if we did reset it you’d have to change it say from 50 hours one month, to 100 hours next, to 150 hours. On top of that it isn’t time based at all.
This might get a little easier with our new Customers feature coming out soon. With this, you can just have a different job for each recurring job you have for a customer. So one for January with budgeted hours, one for February, and so on.
Please let me know of any other ideas and keep voting!

Be able to map more than one job to a class in QuickBooks Desktop
Add a class field to each job
13 votesCliff Mitchell respondedThanks for the suggestion, Miranda. Out of curiosity, are requesting that ClockShark’s jobs be mappable to QuickBooks classes? We do have that option, but I just want clarify, in case there is a different feature you have in mind.
Feel free to let me know your thoughts on this.

Visual of completed jobs
Would be nice to see when the jobs are completed. Nice if the plumbers could check out of each job so we can see what has been done and what still needs to be done that day. We can see when they are on the job by going into another screen. Nice if on main calendar screen can show a green dot for on the job and red dot for done with that job...
13 votesJT Abbott respondedHey Dan, thank you for sharing your idea, and allowing folks to have a forum to support and vote for it.
We do have the ability to set a job to a certain color. I know some companies use this to color code their jobs as new, working, completed, billed, paid, etc.
Is that what you are wanting more so, job statuses?

See hours and timesheets under jobs
When you search a job you can see the hours worked before you click into it. When you click into the job you cannot see anything about hours worked or the employees that worked on that job. Instead you have to go to reports. Make hours worked by employees visible within the job itself please.

Create Tick Box for Change Orders
We would use Tasks extensively and if we have to create a Task called "Change Order" it would prevent us from determining the actual task performed as a change order.
Having a tick box along with a field to enter a change order number or description of work performed under a change order would be very helpful. Generating reports, isolating change orders by job would be a must in this scenario.
11 votesJT Abbott respondedWith our current functionality adding an separate job would probably be the best workflow. You could have something like Job 1, and then Job 1.1 – Change Order that way you can keep track of all the tasks still being performed.
You could then run reports for both jobs and add them up which is a little bit more manual. As we continue to grow this would be a useful feature for Sage clients!

Add worker names when looking at jobs
When looking at a job, the employees or workers that worked the job should be able to show up to see who worked at that job.
